Our Story

The story of Aylmers Circus began in a quiet Gloucestershire garden, where a ten-year-old boy, Harvey, created a miniature version of his dream. What started as a handful of performances for family, friends, and neighbours soon grew into something much bigger . . .

Inspired by the rich traditions of British circus and theatre, Aylmers Circus was founded with a unique vision: to combine the storytelling of musical theatre with the spectacle of circus.

Today, Aylmers Circus brings breathtaking circus skills, original characters, comedy, and audience participation to create vibrant shows that feel like storybooks brought to life. From beginnings in that family garden to professional productions on stage, the company remains driven by the same wonder that that inspired its very first performance.

Making A Scene

Making a Scene was a vibrant family circus adventure that took audiences behind the scenes of a dazzling film set, where cameras rolled, lights shone and chaos unfolded.

The show brought together Nancy Trotter Landry, Ben Kaufman’s LED Hula Hoop and Hand Balancing, Duo Abyssinia’s Roller Skating, Ciaran Innes’ Rola Bola and Juggling, and Becca Plume’s Lollipop and Pole performances. Blending circus, comedy, music and theatrical storytelling, Making a Scene celebrated the excitement, glamour and playful chaos of being on set.

Dancing Queen

Dancing Queen was a disco-inspired celebration of the 1970s, transporting audiences to a dazzling dancefloor filled with sequins, laughter and classic hits.

Featuring Nancy Trotter-Landry, the show combined breathtaking tightwire, daring chair balancing and mesmerising Cyr Wheel with hilarious clowning and a heartwarming storyline. A joyful family spectacle celebrating the music, glamour and energy of the 70s.

Aylmers Circus 2024

Our 2024 show was a theatrical circus extravaganza that transported audiences into a magical kingdom inspired by fairy tales, romance and elegance.

Featuring international acrobats alongside contortion, hand balancing and Cyr Wheel, the show followed the story of a man dreaming of becoming a clown after discovering a letter from a forgotten ballerina. Blending musical theatre and circus, it explored childhood dreams, love and the magic of imagination.
